The Hebrew verb הלך (hālak) is often translated as "to walk" or "to go," but better conveys the general sense of "movement." With persons, it is often used to convey walking as seen in Genesis 22:6: "So the two of them walked (וילכו) on together," and other non-specified acts movement as articulated by Barak in Judges 4:8: "If you will go (תלכי) with me, I will go (והלכתי); but if you will not go (תלכי) with me, I will not go (אלך)." The verb הלך (hālak) can also be used to describe the movement of objects as seen in Exodus 9:23: "Then Moses stretched out his staff toward heaven, and the LORD sent thunder and hail, and fire came down (ותהלך) on the earth."
